About
Built in Texas, Joseph Quintana is an actor, musician, and singer. An advocate for actor-musician based shows Joseph has appeared as a fiddle playing Templeton in Charlotte’s Web with The Zach Scott Theatre, Dr. Norquist and the featured fiddle in Bright Star with Mountain Movers Theatre Co., and Emcee and cello in Once with Theater Westend. Other theatrical work includes In the Heights and Esperanza Rising with the University of Texas at Austin, Atlantis: A Puppet Opera and Dog Magic with The Vortex Theatre, and Pagliacci with Austin Opera. Joseph has also sung with The Chicago Lyric Opera chorus in Götterdämmerung, and mainstage with El Paso Opera in Le Nozze di Figaro. As a current MFA Acting candidate with the University of Central Florida Joseph has played Friar Francis in Much Ado About Nothing, and Scaramouch in Scaramouch in Naxos. New and devised projects have included Carmen with Generic Ensemble Co. a devised based professional group in Austin, ensemble member and fiddle player in The Girl Who Was Legend with The Zach Scott Theatre, and Good Country: A Chamber Opera with the Cohen New Works Festival. Currently Joseph is thrilled to be working with Orlando Shakes as the understudy for Mr. Marks in Intimate Apparel. Before moving to Orlando Joseph lived in Austin, TX, with his partner Michael Krauss, set designer for Fear the Walking Dead. A little homesick at times, Joseph has fallen in love with the vibrancy of the arts in central Florida, has scouted all the best coffee shops in Orlando, and will forever be a beach bum.
